Who is Jesus and why did he come
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him
might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.(John 3:16 - 3:18)

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
(Matthew 1:21)

As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:15)

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)

Jesus spoke in parables
In the following parable the lost sheep is a sinner.

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and
nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say
unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will
of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. (Matthew 18:12 - 18:14)

In the next parable the lost item represents a sinner.

Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house,
and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together,
saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the
presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. (Luke 15:8)

In the next parable Jesus tells us about a repentant sinner.

And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of
goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all
together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had
spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a
citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the
husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired
servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father,
and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy
son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way
off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto
him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the
father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his
feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive
again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and
drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these
things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath
received him safe and sound. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated
him. And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy
commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy
son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.  And he said unto
him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for
this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.  (Luke 15:11 - 15:32)

Jesus is the only way to eternal life
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

Jesus wants us to keep his commandment of love
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and
every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  Now ye are clean through the word
which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the
vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a
branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If ye abide in me,
and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Herein is my Father glorified, that
ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.  As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my
love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments,
and abide in his love.  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might
be full.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.  Greater love hath no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for
all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen
you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye
shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
These things I command you, that ye love one another.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.  If ye were of the world, the world would love his
own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they
will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.  But all these things will they do unto
you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they
had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  If I
had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin
: but now have they
both seen and hated both me and my Father.  But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in
their law, They hated me without a cause.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the
Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  (John 15:1 - 15:26)
